“I had lost faith until I met Jeff” -Garret’s Story

Jeff Thompson copyI met Jeff several months ago at a new hire meeting at my job. Jeff introduced himself as the company chaplain and gave me his number.

I was going through a rough time… custody with my daughter. I had nowhere to stay and I was sitting at my brother’s house… down and out. I didn’t know what to do or how to do it. God started talking to me and told me to call Jeff. Jeff always said, “If I can’t answer, I’ll get back with you in ten minutes.” So I said to myself, “Let me see if he is a man of his word.” I called him and ten minutes later he called me right back. I told him, “Jeff, I don’t know what to do.” He asked if we could pray about it all.

We prayed on the phone and I felt good after that prayer. I asked if we could get together and meet and he agreed. I now have a place for my daughter and I. God has been good to me through Jeff! He reminds me to keep moving forward and not look back. I haven’t looked back since. I talk to Jeff every week and there are times I meet with him face to face. I consider him a good friend and confidant. I had lost faith until I met Jeff.

Having a chaplain in your company will benefit a lot of people. I’ve been in Wisconsin for 18 years. I never was established in a church. I never trusted church to go to them and tell them I need God. When I met Jeff, I was able to talk. We need more “Jeffs” and your chaplains in other places because I’m not the only one going through hard situations and we don’t always feel like we can go to our boss and tell them what is going on. We want a spiritual, godly person to help. Everything Jeff was telling me was coming from the Lord through Jeff. I knew I could trust Jeff.  He has been a blessing! That’s the Jeff I know.

  1. This is acBeautiful Testimony of God’s Grace and Mercy in action. Providing Emotional & Spiritual Supportive Care in the Workplace is So much needed in these trying times. As a Community Based Chaplain serving Bereaved individuals and their families, it is important when people are experiencing Life-Changing events in their Lives, to co-journey with them, offering a kernel of Hope, guidance, encouragement and support. This type of spiritual intervention helps them over the mountains and through the valleys and draws then closer to God in wonderful ways.
