“It Came to Pass”
“It came to pass…”
In Scripture, we read this phrase frequently. One commentator has observed, “It hints not only that events happen, but that they are soon over. In other words, they come…but then they ‘come to pass.'”
Election Day 2016 has indeed “come to pass.” The individuals we’ve elected to national, state, and local offices will now enact laws, policies, and programs that will have an impact — for good or ill — on our society. But from heaven’s perspective, even the latest election “winners” will, at some point, become “former” office holders. In the end, it is the Lord Jesus Christ who shall “reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)
This is what makes our mission at Corporate Chaplains of America significant — and in fact, urgent. Our chaplains offer employees and their family members REAL HOPE FOR REAL LIFE by caring for them and sharing the life-changing Good News of Christ. Our ministry imparts both immediate and eternal benefit to those impacted.
Doing so is consistent with the instruction God gave His people when they were dominated by foreign powers and living in exile during the time of the prophet Jeremiah:
“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon…seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” (Jeremiah 29:4-7).
While probably none of us has seen every candidate we like elected to office, now is nonetheless the time for us to reach out to those around us with the love and truth of Christ.
As we do —
* God will work by His Spirit in people’s lives.
* those who turn to Him will be surprised by His grace, mercy, and joy.
* we will experience His favor and blessing as we faithfully follow and serve Him.
In short, we, as Christ’s followers, will also benefit from seeking the well-being of our communities and nation.
As never before, we need your partnership as we go daily into the greatest mission field in America — the workplace — the place where most people spend most of their waking hours in our increasingly unchurched, unreached land.
Thanks for continuing to stand with us. Please let us know how we can assist you in your workplace and community.
May God richly bless you…until Christ’s return “comes to pass.”
For caring in the workplace,
